The poster is a seamless pattern illustration of many blockhouses piled up. The illustration is inspired by favelas (slums) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The whole is a simple black and white outline of houses with some small details inside. The drawing itself demonstrates the suffocating life of the poor in a big famous city which is known as the capital of football. A favela is a unique, low and middle-income, and unregulated neighborhood in Brazil that has experienced historical governmental neglect. Some have identified the origins of the construction in the Brazilian communities formed by impoverished former slaves in the late 19th century, but it was the great wave of migration from the countryside to the cities from the 1940s to the 1970s that was primarily responsible for the proliferation of these slums in Brazil. If the poster of favelas is printed in a large size that covers all the walls, it brings an impressive visual effect for sure.
